Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Specialist

Tennessee side of the mountain · zip 37350
Stair runners taken tread by tread, landings, bedrooms, and wool rugs cleaned flat on the boards they have been protecting, with a low-moisture process that never takes the pile past damp.
Carpet cleaning on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee starts at $109, a figure that covers three rooms and 450 square feet of floor. Area rugs are cleaned where they lie and never carried out to the van. Downtown Chattanooga is six miles off, fifteen to twenty minutes up the switchbacks, and everything we clean is dry in about an hour.
The climb
Out Broad Street from downtown, then up TN-148, which everybody calls the Scenic Highway, or TN-58, the Ochs Highway, opened in 1931 and running to the state line at the top. Both climbs are switchbacked. Six miles on paper. It feels longer.
Three rooms measured to 450 square feet is the usual shape of a visit. Give us a room count at 423-284-0493 and we will talk you through what the work involves, or read every rate on the published price list.
Small jobs are normal up here, which suits us, because plenty of these houses hold only two carpeted rooms and the landing between them. Nobody gets talked into a room they did not ask about. Our technician cleans what you point at, does it properly, and leaves the rest of the house alone.
What the job actually is

Carpet up here is usually a stair runner, an upstairs landing and two or three bedrooms, with a wool rug in the rooms that have none. None of it is large and all of it is walked on every day, so the work is less about covering ground and more about doing each piece properly: treads taken by hand, edges kept clean where carpet meets bare floor, a rug cleaned flat where it lies.
Before a single tread is touched, our technician reads the code on the runner or the rug. Wool, silk, a cotton-foundation Oriental and a synthetic runner each want a different hand, and that code, W, S, WS or X, says which. A low-moisture process is safer for every one of those codes than a soaking clean, because the fiber never gets wet enough to shrink or to hold moisture down in the foundation.
That is why we bring the newer equipment up here. Our low-moisture method carries solution into the fiber and brings it back out with the soil, so the pile ends up damp. No soapy residue is left to hold the next month of grit, and carpet cleaned without it stays looking clean roughly three times longer. Nothing we spray up here is harsh, either: the solutions are non-toxic and fine to have around children and animals.
Who does the work
Every LocalPro technician who comes up the mountain is our employee, trained by us, in our uniform and our van. We do not send subcontractors, so the person reading the tag on your runner is the same person accountable for the result.
The walk-through comes first. Our technician goes through the house with you, room by room and runner by runner, and says what each surface needs and what it does not. Furniture is moved and put back, edges and treads are done by hand, and nothing starts until you have agreed to the plan.
Then the guarantee. Love the clean or it's free. Say the word before we leave and the room gets cleaned again at no charge; if it still is not right, that visit costs you nothing. The promise sits on the paperwork, not in a footnote.
East Brow Road and West Brow Road are the addresses that mean something up here, so say the street when you book and we will place the house. Give us a room count and roughly how many rugs, and we can tell you how long the visit should take.
The calls we get
The runner and the landing come first on most visits, because that is where every trip up to bed puts its feet. Grit settles at the nose of every tread, below anything a household vacuum reaches. Bedrooms are next, and after that the job is usually rugs.
Rug work is as much of what we do up here as carpet is: wool, hand-knotted, in the family a long time, lying on bare wood in a room with no carpet at all. Each one is cleaned right where it sits, on the boards it has been protecting, starting with a dry pass through the pile so the grit is lifted out before anything damp goes in. We do not take rugs away. Yours stays in the room it lives in.
Furniture rides on the same visit. A sofa is cleaned in place with the same low-moisture method, so it is sat on again the same afternoon. Pet stain and odor work goes after what soaked through into the backing, and our 100% pet odor removal guarantee stands behind that work.
One thing worth stating plainly, because the two get mixed up. There are two towns called Lookout Mountain on this ridge and they are not the same place. This one is Hamilton County, Tennessee, zip 37350. The other is Walker County, Georgia, at the far end, where Fairyland is, and it has a page of its own.
The line between them bothers nobody who lives here. The Fourth of July parade steps off at 10:30 from the Georgia city hall, crosses the state line partway along and finishes at The Commons on this side. We cross it in a work van most weeks.

from $1093 rooms cleaned
We cover every address in Lookout Mountain and all 29 towns on our routes — the same trained technicians and the same guarantee at every one of them.
That tacky feeling is detergent the machine couldn't rinse back out. It dries inside the fiber and stays there, and sticky fiber grabs the next soil that walks through the door.
Yes. A runner prices the same as a full flight, typically $40 to $50, because the work is the same and then some. We take the treads by hand instead of walking a machine down the stairs, and there is usually finished wood on both sides of the runner that our solution has no business touching. The landing at the top bills as a hallway, typically $20 to $30. Every visit here starts at $99.
We do not do it any other way. The rug is cleaned where it lies, flat on the wood it has been covering, and it never leaves the room. Rug work starts at $1 for each square foot, and that covers wool, silk and hand-knotted Oriental too, which puts a 9 by 12 at around $108. Low moisture leaves the pile little more than damp.
All four. The care tag on a rug or a piece of furniture carries a code: W for water-based cleaning, S for solvent only, WS for either, and X for vacuum only. Our technician reads it before anything starts and picks the method to match, so a silk rug marked S is never touched with a water-based solution and an X piece gets a dry clean and nothing else. Because our process is low moisture across the board, you have the room back in about an hour.
This is the Tennessee town, zip 37350, in Hamilton County, with its own Town Hall at 710 Scenic Highway. A separate incorporated Lookout Mountain sits in Walker County, Georgia at the far end of the same ridge, and that town has a page of its own here. We work both in the same week and the money does not change with the state line: from $109 for three rooms and 450 square feet either side of it. If you are unsure which town your address falls in, say the street name when you call and we will place it.
Yes, and up here that is a normal booking. Rooms typically run $40 to $50 each, a landing typically $20 to $30, and every visit starts at $99. Add that up and two rooms with a landing usually sits within a few dollars of the $109 three-room starting price, so we will often tell you to put a third room on it for nearly the same money. Either way you see the total in writing before we start.

Point Park sits at the summit inside the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, and the Incline Railway climbs the mountain from its lower station at 3917 St. Elmo Avenue, running since 1895. Off the mountain our routes drop into Rossville and out to Flintstone in the valley. This is one of the 29 towns we work, and the mountain gets the same trained technicians and the same method as everywhere down below it.
