The ground next door
A workforce that never all goes home at once
Enterprise South sits along Tyner's eastern edge. It opened as an ammunition plant in July 1942, and the Volkswagen assembly plant on the same ground began building cars in April 2011. An assembly line keeps no office hours, and neither did the one before it.
That is ordinary out here and strange most other places. One house is eating dinner, the next is heading out to work, and a third has the blinds down at two in the afternoon. A cleaner who turns up with a four-hour window and a machine that rattles the hallway does not get asked back.
So the job here is quiet and done right the first time. Nothing we bring in is toxic, and it is mild enough to use while somebody is asleep two doors down the hall, and the technician carrying it is one of our own, trained by us and on our payroll.

Booking
The first slot of the day and the last one are not interchangeable
In most neighborhoods, people take the earliest opening on offer. Here, offering it first is how you lose the job. A household with somebody on nights either wants the middle of the day or wants us finished and out before the sleeper goes down, and those two answers are opposites.
So we ask. Tell us which end of the day is protected and we schedule against it. Our week runs Monday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 6 PM. Sundays we are shut. If the only workable hour in your week is four on a Thursday afternoon, we will hold it.
Dry time carries the rest. Our low-moisture carpet cleaning leaves the fiber barely damp, so the floor is ready again in about an hour, and that clean holds about three times as long as soap would leave it. In a shift house that hour is the whole appointment. It decides whether the job fits the day at all, because the carpet has to be back in service before the next person crosses it in boots.

Enterprise South Nature Park took the wooded half of the old plant and handed it to the public for walking and biking. The explosives storage bunkers are still standing out in the trees. Nowhere else in this city has a park that size against the front doors.
Woods dirt behaves nothing like yard dirt. Leaf tannin stains rather than sits. Damp mulch works its way to the bottom of the pile, below anything a vacuum can reach. Mud off an unpaved stretch dries paler than it went on, so the mark you shrug at on Sunday is not the mark you find on Wednesday.

Tyner Academy was founded in 1907, the first secondary school in Hamilton County east of Missionary Ridge, and the Rams still play in maroon and gold. Tell us that on the phone and we will pick it for you. If the sleeper goes down mid-morning, we want the last start of the day, so the house is quiet again well before they lie down. If they sleep afternoons, we want 8 AM and to be packed up by ten. Is the carpet walkable before the next shift change?
Yes. Barely any water goes down, so the fiber comes out barely damp and the floor takes boots again in about an hour. A morning job is finished long before an afternoon start, and an afternoon job is finished before anybody comes in off nights. If the timing is tight, give us the hour it has to be usable and we work backwards from it.
